Just 3 Words for 2015

by Ray Reuter on January 8, 2015

My 3 Words - 2015Time to reveal my results from this year’s Just 3 Words Exercise. I share this to up the ante on my commitment, and model this process so we can all create a more unfettered life together. A quick recap … the process is to simply choose just 3 words to guide and influence your life. It is about setting your focus, your intention, your compass for the next 12 months of your life’s journey.

One Year — Just 3 Words

Here are My 3 Words after prayerful consideration and thought …

  • DELIGHT … I want please God greatly in all that I do. I want to take great pleasure in what I have — to fully “delight” and relish my vocation of unfettering — in my roles as servant, husband, father, grandfather, coach, trainer, unfetterer. I want to delight without perfection.
  • VIGILANT … This is about paying attention, staying awake, keeping careful watch for possible danger or difficulties or temptations. It is about being fully present and mindful and not allowing busyness, uncertainty, need for approval, discord drag me down.
  • REDUCE … Simplify. Get smaller — less clutter, less weight, less comfort food, less hurry, less worry, less disagreement, less distraction, less noise. The whole “less is more” philosophy. Reduction is production!

So there is the direction I am heading for 2015. What about you?

This is commonly called “Funeral Potatoes” around here and is often served at funerals and holidays, etc. Never have tried it with cream of mushroom (here it’s always cream of chicken); and, I’ve also never tried it with croutons (only have had it with cornflake/butter or potato chip/butter mix). Will try!
