Living Palms Up and Out

by Ray Reuter on October 6, 2016

Place your hands out in front of you with your palms up. Consider intentionally living your life this way.

Palms Up … be open to what each day brings, what comes your way. Realize nothing is an accident. You will encounter nothing that you are also not given the courage to handle.

Hands Out … awareness of who you are. Hands in front, leaning forward, willing to be led. Paying attention to God’s callings and promptings. You can do all things through Him who strengthens you.

Hand of Weakness … imagine one hand represents your weakness, your brokenness. Know your soft spots, not living in ignorance. Resist situations where you are apt to stumble and fall.

Hand of Strength … imagine your other hand represents your strength, your gifts. Know the power you have to influence others in a positive way. Play big, not small. Don’t bury your talents.

I believe this is how we are called to live — a way to live a holy life.

But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do, for it is written:
“Be holy, because I am holy.”
(1 Peter 1:15-16)
