New Frontiers

by Ray Reuter on March 10, 2010

“Life is a series of frontiers.”

I came across this phrase this morning and the word “frontier” captured my attention. A “frontier” is the land or territory that forms the furthest extent of a country’s settled or inhabited regions. To enter a new frontier takes courage because it is unknown, new, different, unexpected. I believe we are on the edge of new frontiers. All frontiers – business, physical, emotional, spiritual – require that we change. They involve wrestling with our fears, doubts, and desires. As American pioneers crossed into new frontiers they were changed significantly by the encounter, and that change made them more steadfast, dedicated, and faithful to their mission.

What new frontier are you facing? What’s at risk for you to be a pioneer in some aspect of your life?
