No More Training Wheels!

by Ray Reuter on August 2, 2018

Within the last couple of weeks, two of my grandsons have discarded the training wheels on their bikes and are “training wheels free!” Wow are they proud.

Watching this experience tied in nicely to some work I have been doing with a client on busting through COMFORT ZONES. Discarding one’s training wheels is a beautiful illustration of leaving one’s comfort zone. The book The Dream Giver by Bruce Wilkerson is a story about a person named Ordinary, a Nobody who leaves the land of Familiar to pursue his Big Dream. The story is all about the process of stretching outside our comfort zones beyond what is familiar.

We are all little boy and girls with names who hopefully have Big Dreams we want to pursue. But leaving our comfort zones, our land of the familiar, takes courage. We could fall. We could hit something. We could get hurt. — OR — We could achieve our goals! We could learn something new! We could make a difference in ways we never imagined and become EXTRA-Ordinary!

What aspect of your life that is ready for no more training wheels?!
